DOWNEASTER

Way back when...

Downeaster formed in late 2009 when songwriters Nick Prowse (vocals) and Nick Frater (bass) set about stealing the best musicians in London and convincing them that it really is 1979! Joined by Alex Lewis (guitar/vocals) and Tom Shotton (Drums) Downeaster spread the Power-Pop love across the London and the internets.

Sounding like the love children of Rivers Cuomo and Jimmy Webb (and sometimes even Jeff Wayne!) Downeaster are unashamedly melodic.

Driven by Prowse's "I am the male Whitney Houston" vocals, Lewis' sing-along guitar solos and a rhythm section that is tighter than Toto, Downeaster are guaranteed to lose money, but well worth checking out before the receivers are called in.
